Star Delta Starter wiring

Hello Friends today I have to write about star delta starter wiring with power and control wiring diagram so please friends read carefully and also comments us if you have any suggestions or Questions 🙂.



Lets start first I have to inform you about 
Que:- Why we can use star delta starter ...?
Ans:-They are used in an attempt to reduce the start current applied to the motor during start as a means of reducing the disturbances and interference on the electrical supply.

Now We Start discuss about starter wiring diagram 
There are two types of wiring in star delta starter 1) power wiring  2) Control wiring 

So that first we have start with power wiring 
Material used in star delta starter 
1) 3 pole mcb ........................................................1 nos 
2) 6amp single pole mcb for control wiring..........1 nos 
3) Magnetic contactor with no nc block ................3 nos
4) Overload relay ...................................................1 nos 
5) Indicator lamp in different colours....................3 nos.
6) Timer..................................................................1 nos 
7) Start NO ( normally open ) push button.............1 nos 
8) Stop NC (normally close ) push button..............1 nos 
9) etc. Like wire, CT coil, voltmeter, ampere meter , pvc box, etc.

Now we have starter with power wiring 

As per picture in below you can see 3 types of colour wire Red, Yellow and Blue

Now we are discussing about control wiring 
We go with step by step so please go with proper attention

Steps:-
1) First we are take 1 phase from main power supply and connect with single pole mcb 
2) Now we are connect mcb out put with overload relay so that trip during over load 
In over load relay power supply connect with normally closed [NC] and also get output from normally close [NC] 
3) After that connect that wire with stop push button 
4) Out put from stop button is connect with start push button 
5) Normally open [NO] start push button out put connect with main contactor's no and A1 [coil supply]
6) From main contactor's A1 point take loop and connect with timer's A1 and COMMAN point 
7) Now we talk about holding wire for start and stop push button holding  is must other wise contactor doesn't work 
8) For Holding We are using NO contact and join with out put of stop push button
9) After than timer's NC point is connect with star contactor's A1 point but for safety we have to pass from delta contactor's NC point as per shown in picture 
10) Same for timer's NO pin is connect with delta's A1 point but for safety we have to pass from star contactor's NC point as shown in picture 
11) That passing from another contactor that wiring is called inter locking ( Due to inter locking at same time only one contactor is work at one time.
12) now It's time to connect neutral wire connection. Its very easy as per shown in picture below...
